Product & Authenticity
Are your bags genuine leather?
Yes. All our leather bags are made from genuine leather — not synthetic or faux material. We're upfront about what each product is made of, and product descriptions clearly state the material used.
Where do your bags come from — are they really imported, or locally assembled?
We work directly with our suppliers to source our collections, and we stand behind the authenticity of every product we sell. If you ever have a question about a specific piece before buying, message us on WhatsApp and we'll give you a straight answer.
How do I know the leather is real and not fake?
Come see and feel it yourself — that's exactly why we do our pop-up at Super U Tamarin every Wednesday and Saturday. We'd rather you touch the material and check the stitching in person than take our word for it online.
Pricing
Why are your prices lower than other leather bag shops in Mauritius?
We keep our overheads lean — we don't run a large permanent retail space, so we pass that saving on to you. You get genuine leather quality without paying for a boutique storefront.
Do you offer discounts or sales?
We occasionally run promotions — follow us on Instagram and Facebook (@bags.mu) to be the first to know when new arrivals or discounts drop.
Buying In Person vs Online
Can I see and try the bag before buying?
Yes. Visit our pop-up at Super U Tamarin, open Wednesdays and Saturdays, 9am–7pm. You can handle the bag, check the stitching and hardware, and try it on before deciding.
Where exactly is your pop-up located?
Super U Tamarin, Mauritius. Look out for the bags.mu stand — if you can't find us, WhatsApp us at +230 5256 3242 and we'll point you in the right direction.
Do you have a permanent shop, or only the pop-up?
Currently we operate primarily online at bags.mu with our regular pop-up at Super U Tamarin (Wed & Sat). Our office is at 7 Odette Ernest Street, Port Louis.
Delivery & Availability
Do you deliver across Mauritius?
Yes, we deliver island-wide. Place your order on bags.mu or message us directly on WhatsApp.
A product says "coming soon" — when will it be available?
We update stock regularly. Follow our Instagram/Facebook for real-time drops, or WhatsApp us to ask about a specific item.
Care & Durability
How long will a genuine leather bag from bags.mu last?
Genuine leather, properly cared for, is built to last for years — that's part of why we only work with real leather rather than cheaper synthetic alternatives. We're happy to share basic leather care tips with every purchase.
How do I clean and maintain my leather bag?
Keep it away from direct sun and moisture, wipe with a soft dry cloth, and avoid harsh chemical cleaners. Ask us at the pop-up or via WhatsApp for product-specific care advice.
